Human behavioural experts say "gliders", who glide the knife over the bread for an even spread, are easy-going and calm in nature.

Those who spread butter all the way, including the crusts, are methodical and organised.

Clumpers who leave clumps on the toast are sporadic and think outside the box.

While people who smother the bread with butter have a happy disposition and see the best in life.

Westmeath Behavioural Psychologist Padraig Walsh says surveys like this are a bit of fun to get people talking but you shouldn't take them too seriously:
