Researchers say hitting the snooze button for 30 minutes before you get up can actually make you more alert.

Scientists in Sweden found the performance boost may be due to not being woken too abruptly from REM sleep, when most dreams happen. 

The study at Stockholm University found 30 minutes of dozing either improved memory and concentration in the 31 participants analysed or had no impact on their mental performance.
