It's beginning to straighten up.

The leaning tower of Pisa may have to change its name as it's beginning to straighten up.

Stabilisation works over the past 20 years have seen it become more upright by about 40 centimetres.

However, it's predicted the iconic building will continue to tilt by half a millimetre each year.

Construction on the iconic building began in 1173, with a shallow foundation and unstable soil the cause of the lean.
