100 Inmates At Midlands Prison Test Positive For Covid

A restricted visiting regime will remain in place until testing is complete.

100 inmates at the Midlands Prison have tested positive covid-19.

They're based in the A, B and E Divisions and an outbreak control team has been established.

A second round of mass testing is scheduled for the A and E blocks, while the outbreak in the B Division has been stood down.

A restricted visiting regime will remain in place until testing is complete.

However, physical visits to parts of prisons not affected by covid will resume next week.

Families can book a visiting slots as normal from Monday.
