Farming organisations are appearing before the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee today.
Farming organisations are seeking a written agreement from Bord na Móna that the rewetting of bogs won't result in neighbouring farmland won't be flooded.
Bord na Móna is planning to rehabilitate over 30,000 hectares of peatland to create carbon sinks, and has previously stated that the boundary drains on the bogs will be maintained to avoid overflow into the surrounding land.
The Irish Farmers' Association and the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association are appearing before the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee today.
