The average price of a home in the midlands is over €250,000
That's among the findings of the latest Irish Independent/REA Average House Price Index, which also shows the cost of a home in the region remained unchanged in the first three months of this year.
Dublin remains the most expensive place in Ireland to buy a house, with the average asking price of over €517,000, which is up 1.1% when compared to the final quarter of last year.
A home in Westmeath is significantly below that number, with an average price tag of €285,000, while the figure in Laois and Offaly is €260,000 and €220,000, respectively.
The cheapest county for housing is Donegal, with average prices there at €162,500, up 1.6% in the last three months.
