Many of the issues faced by third-level students weren't addressed in this year's Budget, according to TUS Students' Union.
€4.1 billion has been allocated to higher education in Budget 2024, which will include a €1,000 cut to the €3,000 registration fee, and increases to the maintenance grant.
But, the SU says while the increase to the minimum wage is welcome, it would have liked to see it match the living rate of €14.80.
