There's only three Educate Together schools in the region.
Formalised Government funding would mean more Educate Together schools in the Midlands.
That's the opinion of Killeshin's Edward Platt, Schools Development Officer with Educate Together Ireland
Currently, there's only three Educate Together schools across the region in Tullamore, Portlaoise and Mullingar.
The group is urging the Government to make measures to ensure they can expand their network, such as a survey on school patronage preferences.
They're also calling on funding for schools to support them in making the switch.
