Close To 130 People In Midlands Without A GP Following Practitioner's Retirement

Calls are being made for a new full - time GP to be appointed in an Offaly town.

The HSE have been called on to provide an Offaly town with a full - time resident GP. 

This comes as almost 130 people in the midlands were without a GP to take them on as patient, following the previous practitioner's retirement. 

Currently local's have to travel between 5 - 30kms outside the town for access to a GP. 

Offaly TD Carol Nolan says she is appealing to the HSE to support the retention of rural GP’s:
