The average price of a home in the midlands has climbed by over €4,000.
Figures from the CSO show the average price tag on a property in the region was just over €251,000 in the second quarter of this year.
The highest price in the midlands comes in Laois, at €260,000 - followed by €255,000 in Westmeath and in Offaly prices are a median of €238,500.
Nationally, the cost of a home increased by 7.9% in the year to April.
