Defence Forces Announce Recruitment And Retirement Age Changes

The State hopes the new rules will help the Defence Forces attract more talent.

There will be new mandatory retirement ages and maximum recruitment ages for the Defence Forces.

New recruits can join up to the age of 39 - while the retirement age has been increased to 60.

The Government believes it will improve the Defence Forces' recruiting ability.
