The festival is returning to Mullingar from the 6th to the 14th of August.
€150,000 in additional funding is being allocated by the Government for this year's Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
The festival is returning to Mullingar from the 6th to the 14th of August - after attracting 500,000 to the town last year.
The funding from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage to be used to put infrastructure in place for the festival.
Longford Westmeath TD Peter Burke says that the funding will allow the event to grow in interest:
Last month The Culture and Arts Minister approved support of €100,000 for the Westmeath event.
Catherine Martin described it as "a highlight of our cultural calendar and a welcome boost for local tourism."
The Fleadh is regarded as the world's largest annual celebration of Irish music, language, song and dance.
