EU Injecting €10m In Midlands Climate Action Project

Additional support of €2.5m will come from the National Parks and Wildlife service and the Department of Communications. 

The European Union is injecting €10m into a climate action project for the midlands. 

Peatlands and People will attempt to create a centre of excellence, a programme to encourage sustainable local economies and also an immersive tourist attraction.

Junior Agriculture Minister, Offaly senator Pippa Hackett says the establishment of a Peatlands Knowledge Centre of Excellence will be a marvellous edition to this region.
