Former Defence Forces Member To Run For Election

Cathal Berry will be on the ballot paper in Kildare South.

A former Army commendant will run in a Midlands constituancy in the upcoming General Election.

Cathal Berry is a qualified doctor and former second in command of the Army Ranger Wing. 

He quit the defense forces last year in order to campaign against Government policy affecting the recruitment and retention crisis.  

The Irish Times reports Mr.Berry will be on the ballot in the Kildare South area - running against incumbants Fiona O'Loughlin and Martin Heydon for three available seats.
