€9m is being distributed among over 600 projects across the country.
Nationally €9m has been funded through the Historic Structures Fund and Built Heritage Investment Scheme for over 600 initiatives in Ireland.
In Offaly, some of the €442,000 allocated to the county will go towards to restoring wooden, metal, and lead windows in Birr Castle inner courtyard that date from 1660 to 1870. Tullamore Presbyterian Church is to benefit by €150,000 to cover roof, and ceiling repairs and other works. And €30,000 will go to Luker's Public House in Shannonbridge for works, which include repairs to the shop front, and renovating timer sash windows.
Just over €280,000 is going to projects in Westmeath. €100,000 of that has been allocated to Belvedere House in Mullingar for masonary reapirs and rebuilding of the retaining walls of the battery enclosure are among the repairs to be carried out. Meanwhile, Laois has been grated €171,000.
Vicarstown Old National School will get a face lift to the tune of €35,000 and the Fisherman's Inn, Ballybrittas and the Thatched Cottage, Garrymore, Mountmellick are getting funding for their thatched roofs.
