House Prices In The Midlands Continue To Rise

The average cost of a house nationwide this year was €291,000 Euro.

House prices in the midlands have risen by 13% during 2021, according to an end-of year report by Daft.ie

Nationally, properties rose by 8% with the average price at €290,000.

Westmeath has the highest prices in the region at an average of €244,000, with people in Offaly paying €225,000, while homes in Laois are €218, 000.

The average cost of a house in Dublin City during 2021 was €405,259 Euro up 3.4% on 2020.

In Galway city, prices rose by 1.6% during the year, while in Dublin, prices rose by 3.4%.

Fewer than 11,500 homes were listed for sale on December 1st, the lowest total recorded since July 2006, when online advertising was still emerging.

While the average price nationwide in the final quarter of 2021 was €291,0000, that figure is just 21% below the peak prices seen during the Celtic Tiger era.
