Ireland To Spend €100m On Rented Emergency Power This Winter

Eirgrid is concerned current supply won't meet the demand.

Eirgrid is to spend over €100 million  on rented emergency power this winter.

The Business Post reports the company, which operates the national electricity grid, is concerned current supply won't be enough to meet demands. 

It's issued a call to energy generators seeking tenders to provide up to 200 megawatts of emergency power.
