Justice Minister Urged To Give Guarantees On New Domestic Violence Accommodation In Midlands

The matter was raised in the Dáil earlier today.

Appeals for the Department of Justice the guarantee three new domestic violence safe houses in Offaly and a refuge in Laois have been heard in the Dáil this morning.

Sinn Féin's Brian Stanley has been highlighting the continued shortage of accommodation spaces for victims again.

In response, Junior Justice Minister James Browne said a detailed action plan on the government's new domestic violence strategy will be published next month.

Deputy Stanley fears the issue could roll on for years if direct action isn't taken:
