IFA President Francie Gorman says the IFA will fight against a single pillar funding model.
The IFA is urging farmers to sign an EU-wide petition ahead of a key CAP decision.
The EU Commission’s proposals on the Multi-Annual Financial Framework and Common Agriculture Policy is due on July 16th, and the Irish Farmers’ Association is campaigning for the retention of two pillar funding for farmers in the future.
The current system sees one traunche of financial support going directly to farmers, with another separate fund going into rural development.
