The grants can cover up to 75% of costs.
A new 'Cafe Evening Opening' grant is being announced by Laois County Council for cafes in Portlaoise.
It's hoped the grant can be used to boost the nighttime economy and diversify nightlife through cultural events like live music, comedy shows and themed nights.
Cafes who want to apply in Portlaoise must extend their opening hours by at least 2 hours after 6 pm and enhance their night time events.
Grants can cover up to 75% of costs, with applications closing on Friday July 18th at 5pm.
