The contract provides for an enhanced local radio service to 2035.
Midlands 103 is celebrating the signing of a new 10-year broadcasting licence with Coimisiún na Meán.
The contract builds on the station’s successful programming formula of award-winning news and current affairs, exciting regional sport and “feel good” music, with diverse community content and entertainment.
The company is also committing to be a leader in sustainable media, while working locally to improve media literacy and inclusive access to the airwaves.
Managing Director Will Faulkner is looking forward to the fresh start:
“Midlands 103 has been the most popular radio station in Laois, Offaly and Westmeath since 1990 and we’re always trying to learn and improve. It’s a vastly different station to those early years and it will evolve for the better in the time ahead too. We’ve huge plans to celebrate our 35th birthday with listeners and we’ll be showing appreciation to our commercial customers too. Thank you to everyone who has joined us on the journey so far.”
