An Emergency Department in the midlands is extremely busy today.
The Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar is asking people to consider their options before attending the ED, however patients who require urgent care will be prioritised.
The public are also being reminded that patients, over the age of 16, with the following injuries can attend the Regional Hospital Mullingar Minor Injury Unit, which is located at Charter Medical Private Hospital in Ballinderry, Mullingar:
• Suspected broken bones to arm (from collar bone to fingertip)
• Suspected broken bones in legs (from knees to toes)
• Sprains and strains
• Wounds, bites (animal or insect) cuts, grazes and scalp laceration
• Minor burns and scalds
• Foreign bodies
• Minor chest injuries
