With better weather on the way, Gardaí believe bogus callers may be on the rise.
Gardai in the midlands are reminding the public to be on the lookout for bogus callers, after seizing the vehicle of one such group.
The van was seized recently in Mountrath, and officers say an improvement in the weather will lead to an increase in ‘rogue traders’ calling to the homes of people in the region.
They’re particularly warning of one bogus caller, who returns to people they’ve previously visited.
Gardai are asking homeowners not to open their doors to anyone before checking who they are, as some rogue traders can be intimidating and refuse to take no for an answer.
Anyone who is suspicious of a person or vehicle is being asked to contact their local Garda station.
