Plans for the expansion of a midlands hospital could bring the capacity of the facility to over 100 beds.
Planning permission has been submitted for the construction of a 54-bed extension to the rear of Charter Medical Private Hospital in Mullingar.
The facility currently has the capacity for 77 beds.
The development will consist of a three-storey extension over part-basement, and will also include parking, site-works and services.
A decision from Westmeath County Council is due to be made by the 8th of August.
