There's been an 83% increase in the number of electric vehicles on Midlands roads in the last year.
New figures from the CSO show the number of new Midlands EVs in the year to September totals 119.
The figure for the same period last year is 65.
Laois leads the way in the region with 48 new private electric vehicles this year, double the figure of 24 in 2025.
Westmeath is at 43 so far this year, compared to 27 last year, and in Offaly there's been 28 new EVs, up from just 14 last year.
