Nearly 2,000 New Midlands Home Built Last Year - CSO

New builds are up 10% around the country.

Over 1,800 new homes were completed in the midlands last year.

New figures from the CSO show Laois is leading the way with 757 new dwellings built, followed by Offaly at 548 and in Westmeath the figure lies at just over 500.

Nationally, new builds were up by 10% in 2023, compared to the year prior. 

Dublin had the highest overall figure for 2023, while the region with the fewest number of new homes was along the Border.

Apartment completions are also up 28% in the year.
