NPHET Keeping Close Eye On Offaly's "Worrying Trend" In Covid Cases

It's one of seven counties that have been flagged by health officials.

The National Public Health Emergency Team says it'll be keeping a close eye on a number of counties that are showing worrying trends.

Offaly, Louth, Waterford, Limerick, Kildare, Leitrim, and Donegal are all considered a real cause for concern.

There's been a fourfold increase in the numbers hospitalised with Covid-19 nationally in the past month, while the numbers in ICU have more than doubled.

HSE’s Chief Clinical Officer Colm Henry says they've been looking at the two day incidence rate for each county:
