Offaly Woman To Achieve Dream After Winning Scholarship To Become Pilot

She had to write an essay discussing why she decided to study aviation.

An Offaly woman is on the way of achieving her dream of becoming a commercial pilot after winning a 5,000 euro scholarship.

Emily Lawton from Edenderry received the award from the Irish Aviation Authority when she wrote an essay explaining why she decided to study aviation.

The Dublin City University 1st year student says she has always had an interest in aviation from a young age and remembers going to the airport with her grandad to watch airplanes.
