They were found last week and have since been ordered to be removed.
The discovery of rodents in a Laois courthouse is an 'outrage,' according to a Laois Offaly TD.
Courts Services have ordered the removal of the pests at Portlaoise Courthouse, as well as a thorough inspection of the facility.
It also says the courthouse is not at the level to facilitate the delivery of modern courts services.
However, Fianna Fáil Deputy Sean Fleming doesn't accept that as an excuse:
