Clara in Offaly is the worst affected area thus far.
More than 1400 homes are without power in the Midlands.
The worst affected areas are Clara in Offaly and Athlone in Westmeath, where 1215 and 184 households respectively have no electricity.
The ESB have not yet issued a time which they expect power to be restored.
The outages come as Laois, Offaly and Westmeath experience gusts of up to 130kmph as a result of Storm Brendan.
Motorists are also advised to take extreme caution on the roads, with reports of debris on roads across the region.
