Over 4,000 Refugees In Midlands Hotels

The figure is split between Ukrainians and international protection applicants.

Over 4,000 asylum seekers are being accommodated in hotels in the midlands.

40% of hotels in Westmeath are being used to house 2,170 refugees - 1,422 of those are Ukrainian, while 748 are international protection applicants.

1,212 asylum seekers are being accommodated in just over a third of hotels in Offaly - 1,029 of those are in Ukrainians and 183 are IPAS.

27% of hotels in Laois are being used to house 304 Ukrainian refugees and 504 international protection applicants.
