Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision in the Midlands.
A pedestrian in his 80s was badly hurt when he was involved in an incident with a car on the Main Street in Ballymahon at 5.15pm in Longford yesterday evening.
He was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment of injuries believed to be serious.
The driver of the car, a man in his late teens, was uninjured.
The road was closed last night for technical exam which is due to be held this morning.
