Planning Of Major Just Transition Projects Must Be Prioritised Before Time Runs Out

That's the warning from one Offaly councillor on the deadline for the use of EU funding.

The planning of major infrastructure projects should be prioritised when applying for Just Transition funding.

That's the view of Offaly councillor Eamon Dooley who says plans for roads, broadband and grid infrastructure should be fast-tracked to ensure they are completed within the timeframe to receive financing. 

Under the Next Generation EU Fund, projects have access to €47 million in grants - provided they are complete by 2023.
