A Westmeath town is set for a housing boost as plans for a 16 home development have been submitted.
Developer Larry Costello wants to build a mix of eight detached four bedroom and eight semi-detached three bedroom homes on a 2.5 acre site in Cornamagh, Athlone.
The project includes over 1,500 square metres of public open space and is designed to respect the nearby Cornamagh Cemetery.
A decision from Westmeath County Council is expected by June 8th.
