Portlaoise Hospital ED Reporting As Very Busy Today

Patients are currently experiencing long wait times.

People with non-emergency cases are being asked to consider their options before presenting at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise's Emergency Department.

The ED is reporting as being very busy today, with patients currently experiencing long wait times.

Anyone with a common minor illness can instead present at a GP or a pharmacy. Those with broken bone, dislocations and sprains can attend a minor injury unit.

Patients who require urgent care will be prioritised.
