Visits to Brosna Ward are allowed only for compassionate or critical cases.
Visiting restrictions are being brought in for a Midlands hospital due to the high level of respiratory viral illness cases in the community.
Visiting will only be permitted at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore on the Brosna Ward for compassionate and critical reasons.
While patients on all other wards can have just one visitor between the hours of 6.30pm and 8pm for 30 minutes at a time.
The hospital is also asking anyone considering attending for treatment to consider their local Pharmacy, GP, GP out of hours service, or a local injury unit as an alternative.
