It's due to a rise in patients with a vomiting bug.
Restrictions are being placed on visiting in the Regional Hospital Tullamore.
It's due to a high number of patients with Norovirus, more commonly known as the winter vomiting bug.
Currently, only visits on critical or compassionate grounds is being permitted.
The hospital is also asking patients with non-emergency to seek alternative forms of help, such as GPs, pharmacies or local injury units.
Patients who require urgent care will be prioritised.
The situation will be kept under continuous review.
