The Road Safety Authority is defending its latest ad campaign after a backlash.

The ‘Lose Your Licence, Lose Your Independence’ advertisement has received criticism from people who say their independence is not linked to being a driver.

Its launch at Electric Picnic last week was also slammed by Fine Gael TD Ciaran Cannon, who says it's too 'car focused.'
