A meeting of the Shannon Flood Risk State Agency Co-ordination Working Group took place earlier this month, focusing on plans to address ongoing flood risks in the Shannon Callows.
Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran says communities want to see work on the ground, and agencies are working closely together to advance key measures.
He believes there is still regulatory and environmental hurdles to overcome for the Pinch Points project.
The €7 million government backed project aims to delay flooding by removing these restrictions, with €4 million specifically allocated to works in the Callows region.
He says the project remains subject to planning approval and environmental assessments:
