State Should Order New Inquiry Into Fr. Niall Molloy's Death

A Fianna Fáil senator is making the call.

A Fianna Fáil senator's calling for a new inquiry into the violent death of a Roscommon priest 36 years ago.

Fr. Niall Molloy was killed in Richard and Theresa Flynn's mansion in Clara, Co Offaly, in 1985.

Richard Flynn was the only person charged in connection with his death - but he was cleared of manslaughter in 1986.

Both the Flynns are now dead, but Roscommon senator Eugene Murphy says the state should still order a new inquiry:
