It's in place nationwide.

Two seperate weather warnings are in effect in the midlands.

The northern half of the country is under a status yellow rain warning - it covers Westmeath Cavan, Monaghan, Connacht, Longford, Louth and Meath until 7pm.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow Thunderstorm warning has been issued for Carlow, Kilkenny, Kildare and Laois.

It's valid immediately - Met Eireann says heavy showers with lightning are expected.

A third alert concerns just Donegal, with heavy rain expected until midnight.
