It comes from the latest Irish Businesses Against Litter report.
An Offaly town has broken into the top ten in the latest litter survey by Irish Businesses Against Litter.
The IBAL report ranks Tullamore as the ninth most litter-free town in the country, with eight of the ten surveyed getting the best grade available.
That result represents a ten place jump in the rankings when compared to the last report 6 months ago.
Mullingar is the next best performing town in the region, finishing in a tie for 14th, up one place since June.
Portlaoise has slipped two spots but remain in the top 20, in 19th.
While Athlone, following a significant drop last time out, has gone from 26th to 25th.
IBAL says they're disappointed a fall in plastic bottles and cans on our streets, brought about by the Deposit Return Scheme, was not enough to reduce overall litter levels in Ireland in 2024.
