Nighttime water restrictions now in effect across Offaly.
Uisce Eireann says more areas may need to come under nighttime restrictions, if water consumption continues at high levels.
The utility says water consumption spikes during periods of warm weather, as people take more frequent showers and use hosepipes to clean or water their garden.
Works are also taking place in Tully, Rahan, Lisduff and surrounding areas in Offaly and customers may experience water outage from from 10 o'clock tonight until or 7 o'clock the next morning.
Head of Water Operations at Uisce Eireann, Margaret Attridge, says nighttime restrictions are necessary to maintain critical supplies where reservoirs are under a lot of pressure:
