A member of the Westmeath Joint Policing Committee is calling for a vote of no confidence in the Garda Commissioner.
Councillor, Aengus O'Rourke, says he and many others are at their wits end over the management and lack of resources for Athlone Garda Station.
He also raised concerns with a decline in Garda numbers in the area, an outdated CCTV system and a rise in crime rates in Westmeath.
