The plans will the school be equipped with a number of new rooms.
A multi-million euro development has been given approval for a Westmeath school.
Loreto College in Mullingar will see the project get underway shortly under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.
The extention and refurbishment works will include four special education needs classrooms, a science labratory and lab prep room and a new library.
