A local councillor says further questions need to be answered on the matter.
Work is underway to end a seven month long boil water notice in Laois.
The advisory was issued to the residents of Ballickmoyler last year by Irish Water, but hadn't been updated since.
After being notified of the situation, the local authority's Director of Services made contact with the utility and they arrived on site this week.
