Their Lives Matter was founded by an Irish woman.
EZ Living Furniture has raised €15,000 for a children's charity.
Several years ago, the company delivered a container full of mattresses to children’s charity TLM (Their Lives Matter).
These were used to provide bedding for children with cancer, but also for their families who would often have to travel great distances to support their loved ones.
TLM - Their Lives Matter, is a non-profit organisation that was founded by inspirational Irish woman, Dr Trish Scanlon. Dr Trish, who is originally from Wicklow has been working in Tanzania for over 15 years helping to treat countless children who are battling cancer.
Since then, she has worked tirelessly to provide a wide range of supports including free chemotherapy for all Tanzanian children being treated across a network of cancer treatment centres. The dedication shown by Dr Trish and her team of medical professionals is truly heartwarming and it compelled us, EZ Living Furniture, to do whatever we could to help.
Despite Covid-19 bringing most of their plans to a halt, they still managed to raise a significant amount of money for this very worthy cause.
On the 10th of February 2022, EZ Living Furniture had the pleasure of donating a whopping €15,000 to Siobhan McDonagh and Orla Flanagan of Their Lives Matter - TLM.
In 2021, the parents of the children being treated spent an incredible amount of time sewing fabrics together to create face masks for us to sell in our stores. They distributed these face coverings to 14 of our stores across the country and every single cent collected from those sales was then put aside for TLM.
They also saw the return of our ever-popular Santa videos. Each video ordered at a cost of €20 saw Santa himself delivering personalised messages to children around the world during the Christmas season. Luckily, Father Christmas was more than happy to assist such a deserving charity.
All proceeds from every Santa video booked in 2021 raised over €12,000. Together with the face mask sales, the combined total of money raised for TLM came to €15,000.
EZ Living Furniture is extremely grateful to be in such a position to help those in need. This donation to TLM wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the community and those customers who come to us for their furniture needs. And for that, we thank you all.
