The GAA and Sport Ireland have confirmed that Walker will be accepting a four-year doping ban.
Sport Ireland say Walker lodged an appeal against his ban on April 21, but has since accepted the full punishment.
The 35-year old became the first Irish athlete to test positive for the banned substance meldonium.
