60% Of People In Japan Want Olympics Cancelled

Tokyo is in a state of emergency as it deals with a surge in covid cases.

With just two and a half months to go until the Olympics in Tokyo, a new poll claims 60% of people in Japan want it cancelled.

The capital's in a coronavirus state of emergency until at least the end of the month - and the country's vaccine rollout is well behind many western nations'.

Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga says he's never "put the Olympics first" ahead of protecting the population.
