They begin their build-up to the new season this Sunday.
Athlone Town's pre season will begin this Sunday.
The midlanders will travel to Tallaght to take on Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers in the first of five friendlies before the new season.
In what looks a strong book of fixtures, Adrian Carberry's charges will face four top tier sides in preparation for the beginning of the new First Division campaign on March 26th.
That trip to Dublin on Sunday will be followed by home and away fixtures against Sligo Rovers and home ties with Finn Harps and Longford Town.
